Has anyone heard or read if the excellent in-game coverage we used have on Homeplate will return this year or are they going to continue with airing games on 175 in prime-time?

Depends on whether Sirius XM plans to fork over the extra money MLB wants to allow its play-by-play to be carried on both platforms. Last season, MLB play-by-play was exclusive to the XM side of Sirius XM and to satisfy MLB's legal eagles Sirius XM had to make sure no play-by-play ever reached Sirius subscribers' ears. That meant the end of in-game coverage on Home Plate, the only MLB channel cleared for carriage on Sirius. (Sirius subscribers get prerecorded filler programming on Home Plate when games are on.)

Since Sirius XM is cutting costs wherever possible to get Wall Street back on its side (and it's apparently working), I doubt MLB will be getting a penny more that what is stipulated in the original agreement, so no live look-ins on Home Plate.

Maybe I am not following the logic. Why not continue the in-game coverage on XM and give the Sirius side the filler content? Either way the Sirius folks are getting filler content.

I hope not. I enjoyed the score updates, talk, fans calling in plus the "look ins" during prime time.

I like having live games on MLB Home Plate. If you want live look ins watch the MLB Network they have live look ins. I like the live look ins on XM don't get me wrong but actual live games on XM is better. I just hope one day all the MLB play by play channels will be on both XM and Sirius.

Ken you could always listen to the game of your choice on XM. Losing the "Ronnie Lane" type look in show on Home Plate saved them a host salary and continued their degradation of service. Most of us have sat radio to avoid being tied to the television.

All the games were broadcast when they had the prime-time shows.
