In case anyone that misses XM12 X Country has never found the Music Fog site, you should.
http://www.musicfog.com/
A pretty good discription of what/why they started that site-
""At this point you're probably asking yourself, "Who is this guy and why does he think we care if he's going into the Army?!" I don't blame you. My name is Ben Krech. Jessie Scott , Jim McBean and I are the ones who started this site ten months ago with the hopes of filling a void in the Americana scene: the one that Sirius/XM left behind when they canned Jessie and blew up the channel known as " X Country ." We all had this thought that if we recorded a bunch of videos of great Americana artists that people might just want to watch them. Luckily you did! And with the current MF crew, we'll hopefully have years of great music to come. I'll definately be watching wherever I end up."

Thanks for this. I'm certain to spend way more time there than I should.
But on the other hand, this is just a sad reminder of how great X-Country was and what an absolute piece of White Trash 12 now is. _________________ Sittin' with Steve sippin' Lemonade on the Front Porch... |

| I agree 100 percent. Channel 12 does not represent the Americana revolution. Jesse brought so much unrecognized talent to alot of listeners. R.I.P Cross Country. |

I notice that Music Choice has blown off Americana as well, in favor of more rock, hip-hop and "party music" channels. So much for the revolution. |

Was X-Country not a viable XM channel? I'd be surprised if it did not have a strong following for a niche station.
That Music Choice dropped Americana, assuming they actually had a representative channel, is hardly a death blow to the genre. _________________ Sittin' with Steve sippin' Lemonade on the Front Porch... |

I've been following Music Fog for almost a year now.
I get a daily email with links to some great videos as well as new artists and stories. It is a really great site for new information in the music scene when at home on the computer.
As far as the last year goes...I'm still missing X-country but the Slacker radio and the Ipod fill some of that void. |

I try to check out Music Fog at least once a week. It's nice having a videos up of the great music that used to be played regularly on XCountry, but it is only a song or two. I really hope that Jessie and crew can find a way to do online radio on this site. In the meantime, BootLiquor on iTunes radio is pretty good, still nothing will even hold a candle to XCountry.
Love that they slammed the insulting crap channel that is Outlaw Country, just brutal. What's sad is that all of the awesome in studio recordings that were done over the years are probably gone forever. I have yet to hear any of them on OC, and Sirius has made it a point to let all subs know that Sirius won, and that anything XM is going to be pushed out the door if it hasn't been already. |

| Thanks for turning me on to musicfog. It looks to be a motherload of all that has been missing from 12. I finally gave up and removed 12 from my presets. Ridiculous. |
